Employment Opportunity - Secretary Manager (Gunnedah Jockey Club)

Position Title: Secretary Manager – Gunnedah Jockey Club

Position Summary: The Secretary Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Gunnedah Jockey Club, including raceday event management, business planning, community relations, financial management, and compliance with industry standards and regulations. The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and effective communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage raceday event operations, including sales, marketing, and customer relations.
2. Develop and implement business plans to drive growth and sustainability.
3. Cultivate positive relationships with community , stakeholders, and industry participants.
4. Prepare budgets, conduct financial analysis, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
5. Collaborate with the Track Manager to maintain track and facility standards.
6. Promote Work Health & Safety, and ethical practices throughout the club.
7. Explore opportunities for environmental sustainability and improvement.
8. Procure sponsorship and develop marketing strategies to attract participants and spectators.
9. Lead a small team, fostering a culture of excellence and customer service.
10. Manage capital projects and seek funding from government and private sources.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

1. Proven experience in business istration, financial management, and marketing.
2. Tertiary qualifications in business management or related fields.
3. Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
4. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
5. Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
6. Exceptional time management and attention to detail.
7. Track record of attracting participants and generating revenue.
8. Experience in managing capital projects and securing funding.
9. Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team towards common goals.
